My name is Adrian H.Dorris. I am Zuni Pueblo and Chicano mestizo, born and raised in San Diego, California. As a Native American/Chicano alumnus of UCSC, I bring with me a healthy critique of this institution as well as a deep-rooted appreciation for the unforgettable experiences I had at UCSC and the incredible people with whom I shared them. I came back because of my commitment to building healthy, vibrant, thoughtful and inspirational communities at UCSC and beyond.

I was born in California
Went to school in Portland Oregon
Climbed the tallest peak in Africa
Swam with seals in the deepest lake in the world
Spent a winter in Saint Petersburg
And dodged a bullet in Bosnia just after the war…
and working with SOAR, Student Media and Cultural Arts & Diversity
still gets my blood pumping every day!

Plan on conquering my bucket list throughout my years including spending new years twice.

There was a young man known as Phil,
who was born in Massachusetts cold chill.
He then moved to the west,
and discovered that California is best,
which is why he lives out there still.
Film, frisbee, and surfing are just a few of his passions,
he also enjoys eating mexican food in much-too-large rations.
He studied for years, and became a UCSC alum,
to work with our students, because Slugs have more fun!
