Student Media offers training in media law, advising and support services, up-to-date media facilities, equipment and pre-professional training to hundreds of UC Santa Cruz students each year. Students also engage in leadership training, develop and lead organizations, and make decisions for the Student Media unit.
Advisors in our unit uphold the First Amendment and support students’ freedom of expression while providing training that helps prepare you for work with print and television media. The program offers a rewarding partnership with students’ academic pursuits where they can gain practical skills and experience prior to graduation.
