College Panhellenic Council is the governing board for three national sororities that exist at the University of California, Santa Cruz.

We, as Undergraduate members of women’s fraternities, stand for good scholarship, for guarding of good health, for maintenance of fine standards, and for serving, to the best of our ability, our college community. Cooperation for furthering fraternity life, in harmony with its best possibilities, is the ideal that shall guide our fraternity activities. Additionally, we stand for service through the development of character, inspired by the close contact and deep friendship of individual fraternity and Panhellenic life. The opportunity for wide and wise human service, through mutual respect and helpfulness, is the tenet by which we strive to live.

College Panhellenic Council consists of nine elected executive officers.

The following are chapters that are recognized by both UCSC and College Panhellenic Council:

  • Gamma Phi Beta
  • Kappa Alpha Theta
  • Kappa Kappa Gamma

Inter-Greek Council (IGC)

Inter-Greek Council (IGC) is the governing board for 16 Greek-Letter Organizations that exist at the University of California, Santa Cruz.

The goal of IGC is to improve unity, provide governance and extend support to the Greek-Letter Community. IGC will be the unified voice for the Greek-Letter Community at the campus. Furthermore, IGC will keep all Greek-Letter Organizations in compliance with campus standards and practices. We strive to positively impact Santa Cruz as well as foster growth in the Greek-Letter Community.

IGC consists of five elected officers and an IGC representative from each Greek-Letter Organization.

The following are Greek-Letter Organizations that are recognized by both UCSC and IGC:

The Expansion Council is responsible for effectively managing expansion at the University of California, Santa Cruz. The council works towards understanding the need for a new organization based on Greek-Letter Organization trends including but not limited to, chapter size and health, community needs, and the best interest of UCSC students. Additionally, the council actuates that sufficient resources are available to current Greek-Letter Organizations as well as new organizations to ensure their success on the campus.

The Expansion Policy outlines the required procedure for establishing University recognition of new Greek-Letter Organizations. UC Santa Cruz operates with an assumption of non-expansion unless a need has been determined to change this assumption.

Reactivation Policy | View PDF
The Reactivation Policy outlines the required procedure for reactivation of an inactive Greek-Letter Organization that was previously recognized by the Office of Records for Greek-Letter Organizations (SOAR). To be considered as a candidate for reactivation, the Greek-Letter Organization must have been recognized by the Office of Records for Greek-Letter Organizations (SOAR) within the last 2 academic years (Fall to Spring). As of the 2024 - 2025 academic year, Delta Sigma Theta and Zeta Phi Beta are eligible for reactivation on our campus.
